JUAN GILA BORAITA
Zafra (Extremadura) 1964
Graduated from the Seville University of Fine Arts, sculpture section in 1987. Since 1987 and until today, he is professor of sculpture at the school of fine arts "Rodrigo Alemán" in Plasencia. In 2002, he participated in the 1st Sculpture Symposium of the city of Salamanca. Collaborator in sculpture and painting courses organized by the Caja de Extremadura from 2004 to 2009, taught by Antonio López, Julio López, José Hernández and Venancio Blanco. In 2006, he followed the course of contemporary sculpture in Via de La Plata, given at the Pérez Comendador-Leroux museum in Hervás. That same year, he collaborated in the bronze sculpture course given by Eduardo Capa at the cultural complex of Santa María de Plasencia. Since 2007, he has been coordinator of the Museo Tiflológico de Plasencia. Set designer for the feature film "Garantía Personal", directed by Rodrigo Rivas in 2014. Since 2016, he has been a member of AVAEX (Artistas Visuales y Asociados d'Extremadura).
